From Dow Jones NewswiresTuesday 28 June 2011Chinese kit maker to begin producing Android-powered devices from August.Chinese telecommunications hardware and mobile-device maker ZTE Corp. has reached a deal with domestic companies to begin producing tablet computers in Brazil later this summer, the Associated Press reported Monday.The Shenzhen-based company made the announcement after its chairman, Hou Weigui, met with Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff in Brasilia, the capital of the South American country.Hou told reporters that his company has sealed partnerships with some manufacturers to start producing the tablets running Google Inc.'s Android software in August. The devices will be sold in Brazil. He said ZTE is planning to expand in Brazil, with its own manufacturing plant and possibly the installation of broadband Internet networks, the AP reported.
