29 September 2017, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced that it released its Central Office (CO) re-architecting white paper during the PT EXPO CHINA 2017 in Beijing. The white paper illustrates the re-architecting of network infrastructure and services involved in CO re-architecting. It defines the overall CO re-architecting solution and specifies a clear concept and implementation roadmap for future network evolution. It also provides a powerful theoretical support for operators’ transformation and upgrade.
At present, Internet services are flourishing, so operators are facing challenges in both technology and business model. They need urgent digital transformation, with the network architecture of the core of data center a key task. Meanwhile, the emerging services ask for an agile, open, and programmable network to meet the visualisation, service-on-demand, and self-service demands of users. So the existing network must be re-architected; and CO re-architecting is an important starting point for operators’ network transformation.
Based on in-depth research of future network services, as well as its communication and close cooperation with international and domestic operators, ZTE releases its CO re-architecting white paper, providing future network evolution with an overall solution. The white paper elaborates on the re-architecting of network infrastructure, services, and operation and maintenance (O&M). Network infrastructure re-architecting proposes the core technologies required to construct future networks, focusing on the cloud, and building a unified architecture to bear fixed mobile convergence (FMC) services. The service re-architecting describes the evolution and deployment solution of typical future services. The O&M re-architecting determines the key points in future automated and intelligent O&M. The white paper clearly defines the theories, proposals and sustainable evolution of ZTE in its CO re-architecting solution.
Mr. Wang Jun, ZTE Chief Architect of SDN Solution said: “ZTE has a profound understanding of what network transformation challenges operators are facing: How to improve network efficiency by exploring network values to increase revenues when communications technology (CT) services are highly saturated is the core demand. The ZTE CO re-architecting solution has the key features of integration, high efficiency, and layers decoupling. Using SDN/network functions virtualisation (NFV) technologies, ZTE can re-architect network and CT services to lay a solid foundation for IT services in the digital age. ZTE will continue cooperating with the partners to accelerate the commercial progress of its CO re-architecting solution, and assist operators in their network transformation.”
ZTE is dedicated to the Novonet project held by China Mobile, ONAP piloting, verification, and solution integration. It has accelerated network virtualisation innovation and made an outstanding contribution to the development of the industry chain. ZTE has also taken an active part in the network re-architecting construction of China Telecom Guangxi, and China Telecom Sichuan. It worked with the operators to explore the evolution of future network re-architecting, and made a pioneering contribution to the operators’ network transformation.
