March 1, 2018, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today released its RCS MaaP 2.0 solution and displayed end-to-end services based on its MaaP 2.0 platform at Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona, Spain, aiming to help operators foster a new ecosystem in the AI industry.
MaaP (Messaging as a Platform) is a core function in RCS UP 2.0 specifications and is the next- generation A2P message opening platform for global mobile operators. It integrates the advanced message transmission function of RCS into Chatbot, Plug-in, and AI services to provide richer service experiences for consumers, and will be the business entrance to the A2P industry for operators.
At MWC 2018, ZTE illustrated its MaaP-based O2O food ordering services, which efficiently integrated AI with Chatbot. Users can easily order and deliver food through the boot menu with 7/24-hour customer services. In the meantime, ZTE provides customized service templates and HTML5 development tools for third-party service providers to help them develop and deploy their respective services rapidly.
ZTE MaaP 2.0 solution is devoted to providing globalized and standardized next generation message capability opening services for third-party service providers to serve global customers via single-point access. In addition, the MaaP-based Chatbot has extensive application scenarios. With further improvement of its AI solution, Chatbot can be applied in multiple industries and departments such as banking, airline, railway, restaurant, and ground transportation.
Furthermore, ZTE showcased its RCS-based multi-ID service and smart home solution at MWC 2018. The multi-ID service can support switching multiple numbers freely, including family number, work number, and individual number, so as to protect users’ privacy, to promote users’ communication experience, and to help operators increase their revenues. The smart home solution with RCS as its entrance, at this stage, can provide multi-party video communication services. With up to 1080P definition, it can realize interaction between mobile screens and TV screens to bring stable, high-quality and convenient video communication experiences for users.
Tu Jiashun, chief scientist of SDN/NFV at ZTE stated, “According to GSMA’s prediction, the global A2P message market scale will reach USD 74 billion in 2021. At present, 56 operators have announced their business applications of RCS while 22 mobile manufacturers announcing their support to UP specifications. Therefore, the industry chain has taken shape.
