25 January 2016, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced that, in partnership with Ansaldo STS, it has completed a communication-based train control (CBTC) over LTE test. Ansaldo STS, a leading company in the global signalling and integrated transport systems markets for both passengers (railway/mass transit) and freight, provided the CBTC signalling equipment, while ZTE provided the LTE equipment and devices required for the test.
The test result shows that ZTE LTE technology perfectly meets the requirement of CBTC. The test covers such scenarios as static condition, handover, failover and load with static and dynamic configuration. The key performance indicators (for example, packet loss, latency, maximal number of users, system start-up and shutdown time) fully comply with the requirement of CBTC transmission.
Prior to the lab test, ZTE and Ansaldo STS had already verified CBTC over LTE in Hangzhou Metro using the automatic train operation (ATO) mode. This field verification confirmed that key performance indicators, such as packet loss and latency, fully met the requirement of CBTC.
