21 March 2016, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, is pleased to announce that they have launched a commercial trial of VoLTE (voice over LTE) high definition voice services in Henan province for China Unicom.

ZTE has provided China Unicom with end to end VoLTE solutions, including VoWiFi, VoLTE HD video and audio and Rich Communications Services (RCS) for China Unicom. 4G subscribers in Henan can now enjoy HD voice and the improved call quality and high fidelity it enables.

 

The Henan VoLTE project is one of the seven trial sites in China and is the first province to realize VoLTE commercialization for China Unicom. Thanks to ZTE’s rich experience in building VoLTE networks, the construction has successfully passed tests in multiple phases, a feat that China Unicom has warmly praised. Additionally, during construction ZTE helped China Unicom establish First Call on the existing network infrastructure, enabling the telecommunications operator to gain a leading position in the nation as a builder of VoLTE networks.
