8 May 2019, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major global provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced that ZTE’s flagship optical access platform TITAN has won Best Access Solution Award at Broadband Forum Asia 2019 held in Bangkok, Thailand.
TITAN is the industry’s first optical access platform to leverage a high-end router architecture, supporting the smooth migration from GPON to 10G-PON and then to 50G-PON.
Since its launch in October 2016, ZTE’s flagship optical access platform TITAN has been innovating in cross-generation convergence, FMC (fixed and mobile convergence), as well as IT and CT convergence, becoming a star product in the optical access field.
By virtue of the innovative Combo PON technology, TITAN can dramatically simplify the upgrade of broadband technologies. Moreover, it leverages WDM-PON technology to support 5G fronthaul and implement FMC by making full use of existing enriched fiber resources and sharing them with 4G/5G base stations.
To date, TITAN has been widely applied in Asian markets, such as China and Japan, as well as other countries, including Italy, Brazil, and Mexico. According to the world-renowned consulting firm IHS, ZTE’s fixed-network access products had the world’s top 2 market share in Q4 2018.
ZTE has completed the verification of the industry’s first N×25G WDM-PON for 5G fronthaul in the existing networks of Suzhou Branch of China Telecom. Furthermore, ZTE is the first in the industry to place a built-in blade on the OLTs, empowering the OLTs to have MEC storage and computing capabilities, and to satisfy the deployment and provisioning of experience-sensitive services.
