20 February 2020, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced that it has won iF Design Award 2020 for its 5G base stations, Leaf Veins. The series of 5G base stations employs the multi-antenna technology to improve spectrum utilization and meet the requirements of modern high-traffic network communication.
The design of Leaf Veins 5G base stations is inspired by plant leaves. The teeth of bionic leaves of the 5G base stations can dissipate heat as quickly as the leaves of plants. Multiple leaf veins (palmlike, parallel, and straight) can be used in tropical, temperate, and cold areas to meet different power consumption requirements.
The V-tooth heat dissipation design, which evolves from the leaf vein texture, has been applied on ZTE’s commercial 5G base stations. Integrated with the PCI material, the design can greatly improve the heat dissipation efficiency while reducing the temperature of core components and the whole system.
As an achievement of ZTE’s independent innovation, this award recognizes ZTE's industrial design capabilities. Moving forward, ZTE will keep exploring the industrial design field, with great commitment to product quality, and continue innovation.
