19 November 2020, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today has unveiled its original site-level computing power engine, the NodeEngine solution, at China Mobile Global Partner Conference 2020.
The NodeEngine solution is dedicated to building a local intelligent node with vertical applications-oriented and on-demand deployment for operators and their enterprise customers. It will accelerate the incubation of 5G applications in the industrial parks, promoting the digital transformation.
At the conference, ZTE has presented the NodeEngine- site-level traffic offloading solution while providing the audience with a brand-new experience of NodeEngine low-latency video streaming service through the 5G network and ZTE video gateway.
Compared with the traditional uploading method, the low-latency video streaming service can shorten the end-to-end video transmission latency to less than 100ms, a decrease of latency by 80%. It will enable video services, especially the video remote control applications, to help manufacturers and freight terminals accelerate the deployment of applications and provide employees with a better working environment.
With the edgecomputing - engine down to a site, the NodeEngine solution can quickly meet the requirement of local data transmission, providing industrial parks with multiple, flexible and on-demand offloading strategies.
Compared with the existing 5G private network solution, the NodeEngine solution features hardware cost optimization, rich value-added services, the shortest local transmission path, and the fastest deployment based on existing network.
After being uploaded to the gNodeB through the 5G air interface, UE data is forwarded directly to the local server, thereby reducing the latency caused by transmission and possible data leakage. The end-to-end transmission latency will be reduced to 10ms.
Deployed in one BBU with the 5G sites, the NodeEngine solution does not require engineering survey and the interconnection with core network, thereby simplifying the coordination between operators' departments.
Meanwhile, the NodeEngine solution can be deployed on one general computing board which is installed on the existing base station, making the installment more simple and cost more effective than that of traditional servers..
Oriented to differentiated local applications, the NodeEngine solution can guarantee SLA. In addition to the low-latency video streaming service presented at the conference, the NodeEngine solution can also provide the Edge QoS service to satisfy the requirements of the applications of industrial parks and enterprise self-service portal management.
