14 March 2018, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, is invited by the Optical Interworking Forum (OIF) to participate in the OIF PLL Interoperability Demo 2018 in an intelligent optical network during the Optical Networking and Communication Conference & Exhibition (OFC) 2018 in San Diego, the U.S.
The demo organized by the OIF involves 14 vendors including ZTE. The demo marks the groundbreaking progress in the interoperability among multi-vendor FlexE interfaces, getting widespread attention and recognition from the industry.
The demo involves three major technologies: Flex Ethernet (FlexE), 112 Gbps per lane live electrical signaling and end-to-end optical links using CEI-56G-VSR electrical interfaces.
ZTE primarily demonstrated the performance of FlexE Tunnel, a key technology of 5G transport. The demo showcases the outstanding performance of ZTE's 5G Flexhaul solutions and products to meet differentiated transport requirements and stringent performance challenges of different 5G services.
ZXCTN 609, ZTE's 5G Flexhaul transport product participating in the demo, is the industry's first 5G fronthaul/backhaul integrated device. ZXCTN 609 allows physical isolation and network slicing based on the FlexE, and supports interfaces such as CPRI, eCPRI, and Ethernet to simultaneously transmit 3G, 4G and 5G services. ZXCTN 609 also provides ultra-large bandwidth, ultra-low latency and ns-level time synchronization accuracy, and supports fronthaul, midhaul and backhaul scenarios.
ZTE was also invited by the OFC to make a keynote speech at the 5G workshop, in which the ZTE representative spoke on “Innovative FlexE Solution to Meet the Critical 5G Transport Requirements”, sharing the insights with the industry experts.
ZTE has been devoted to the innovation of 5G transport technologies, continuously facilitating and verifying 5G transport solutions. ZTE has completed several tests with leading operators such as Telefonica and China Mobile to fully verify excellent performance of the FlexE Tunnel-based 5G Flexhaul solution in CPRI/eCPRI unified transport, ultra-low latency, and ultra-fast protection switching.
ZTE's 5G Flexhaul solutions and products have now been matured and available for trial commercialization. ZTE will dedicate itself to helping operators accelerate 5G commercialization.
