Singapore, 4 August 2006 - ZTE Corporation, a global leading Telecommunication equipment supplier, and Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel), Asia`s leading communications group, announced today that they have entered into a supply-agreement for the supply, installation, test, commission and maintenance of ZTE`s Colour Ring Back Tone (CRBT) system.
The new ZTE CRBT system is based on ZTE`s award-winning IN switch-based solution which enables the capacity to increase many folds in comparison to switch node. In addition, the new CRBT system provides enhanced features like Corporate Ring Tone and Music Station, where a collection of tones that changes monthly is offered by Content Providers at a special price. An additional feature is the copy? function where users can copy tones from another mobile phone without having to know their titles. These features allow SingTel to expand its customer base and differentiate its services in an already highly mature and competitive market.
"SingTel has been enhancing its value added services to serve the market`s needs and one of the means is through working with credible and proven solutions from our vendors," said Mr. Hui Weng Cheong, SingTel Vice President of Consumer Products.
Mr. Kan Yulun, ZTE`s Vice President of Network services, said that the agreement is indicative of ZTE`s expertise in delivering high-quality value added services. He added that ZTE`s CRBT system has been deployed in more than 54 networks of over 13 countries worldwide with a total 40 million active subscribers.
Mr. Roy Tong, ZTE Singapore CEO indicated that this is just one of the many upcoming solutions that ZTE would be collaborating with SingTel to achieve a "Win-Win" solution.
