ZTE Corporation ("ZTE"), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, will be one of the key sponsors of the upcoming IMS Global Congress in Amsterdam, Netherlands from 3 - 7 December, 2007. The company, a major provider of IMS in the industry worldwide, will have ZTE's Director of Product Marketing for Western Europe, Franck Toupin, to present on the topic "Using SDP as a Move to IMS" on 6 December 2007 to provide conference attendees his expert views on how to effectively transition from focusing on access to services and switch to SDP and IMS.
The IMS Global Congress 2007 is an annual conference hosted by IIR Telecoms & Technology London, a leading provider of strategic telecommunications conferences, to showcase how service providers worldwide are implementing IMS.
"We are pleased to be one of the key global IMS providers to present and demonstrate our capability in this prestigious annual conference," said Mr. Toupin. "We are one of the few vendors in the world with a full IMS product portfolio, offering 3GPP/TISPAN-based solution for global mobile operators, fixed network operators, and full-service operators. Our end-to-end solution has been commercially deployed in China with the biggest IMS network globally while tailoring to the needs of both businesses and customers."
By clearly decoupling the applications from the underlying networks, this unified core control layer is opening the door for many future potential services. Thus, a suitable Services Architecture or Service Delivery Platform is required for a more collaborative environment with agility and simplification of service provisioning. IMS/fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) is about restructuring the network through the coordination of network, services, charging and terminals.
ZTE is an early adopter of the MultiService Forum (MSF) Release NGN Guidelines which guarantees full interoperability for real implementation. Its IMS product portfolio complies with MSF Release 3 Architecture.
In November 2007, ZTE demonstrated the integration of its innovative IMS products with Telemanagement Forum's (TMF) New Generation Operation Systems and Software (NGOSS) framework as part of TMF's Catalyst Project, which is championed by China Unicom and Chunghwa Telecom. In addition, the company has recently developed a complete IMS solution, ZIMS, which supports various access technologies including UMTS, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000, WLAN, WiMAX, Cable Broadband Access, and xDSL etc.
