29 September 2008, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today revealed its Broadband Easyservice enables service providers to reduce the operation, administration, and maintenance (OA&M) costs of delivering broadband access, while also cutting energy consumption.
Studies conducted with Tier 1 customers using ZTE Easyservice, including China Telecom – which has deployed ZTE’s EasyMaintenance and EasyGateway modules – has shown ZTE is delivering major reduction in the cost of OA&M of broadband services by optimizing management and failure diagnosis, while improving the overall efficiency of broadband maintenance.
ZTE Easyservice is a service-oriented and expert knowledge-based system, which provides end-to-end maintenance and support for broadband (DSL and PON) services. The system helps telecoms operators to reduce the OPEX associated with providing broadband services by enabling automatic fault diagnosis and resolution, which reduces the engineering resource required to provide on-site maintenance and the number of customer service calls related to faults. ZTE is currently completing pilot Easyservice projects with major operators in Europe, Asia and South America.
"In the ultra-competitive and increasingly commoditized broadband market, service providers are becoming more and more aware of their total cost of ownership, especially OPEX," said Xu Ming, VP, general manager of fixed line network products at ZTE. "We developed ZTE Easyservice to help broadband providers to radically reduce the maintenance and customer support costs associated with their broadband services."
Easyservice provides automatic configuration, end-to-end failure analysis and processing, network maintenance procedure optimization and management, services capability prediction and optimization. Easyservice is customized for every operator to ensure it is seamlessly integrated with existing BSS/OSS, CRM and customer support systems.
Gartner has ranked ZTE as one of the world's top three DSLAM vendors for three years running and highest growth of market share in the past two years. Its mini DSLAM product series were awarded the Best Green Innovation Award by IEC at SOFNET 08 in London this April. Over 35 million lines of ZTE DSL products have been widely used in 63 countries and regions including Germany, Italy, Sweden,Finland, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Hong Kong, Argentina, India, Indonesia and Brazil.
