New Management Team to Continue to Drive Company as World-Class Telecom Vendor
SHENZHEN, China, March 31, 2010 — ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announcedMr. Shi Lirong has been appointed to President of ZTE by the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Shi replaces Mr. Yin Yimin, who successfully served as ZTE President during the company’s fourth term for a period of 6 years.
Mr. Shi Lirong and his new management team will adhere to the strategic direction defined by the board of directors and strive to continue growing all areas of ZTE’s businesses. They will focus on analyzing changes in the global telecom market, driving innovation and high-quality products in the wireless/wireline and handset markets, and satisfying the dynamic and individual needs of ZTE customers. Biography of Mr. Shi Lirong
Mr. Shi Lirong, 46, an Executive Director and the President of ZTE Corporation. He served as an Executive Vice President of ZTE Corporation from 1999 to March 2010 responsible for managing the Company’s sales and business development operations. Mr. Shi held the post of Vice President at Zhongxingxin Telecommunications Equipment Company, Limited (the “Zhongxingxin”), during 1993 - 1997. Zhongxingxin is controlling shareholder of ZTE. In Feb 2001, he was appointed as Executive Director of ZTE Corporation. Combined with more than 19 years of management skills, Mr. Shi has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the telecommunications industry. Mr. Shi holds 200,283 A shares of ZTE. Mr. Shi holds a Master’s degree in Telecommunication and Electronic System Engineering from Tsinghua University, and a Master’s degree in Engineering, specializing in Telecommunications and Electronic Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU).
