10 November 2011, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announced that it has been named LTE Vendor of the Year for 2011 by leading consulting firm Frost & Sullivan.
The Frost & Sullivan LTE Vendor of the Year award is given to companies that have achieved excellence in the LTE space in a given year. ZTE was selected as the 2011 winner on the strength of its growing number of contract wins and patent applications. The company’s industry leading system equipment has entered high-end markets such as Europe, Japan and the United States making the company one of the world’s most competitive LTE solutions providers.
ZTE’s influence in the global LTE market has steadily growth. In first half 2011, ZTE’s new LTE contracts exceeded its total number of LTE contracts for all of 2010. ZTE has won 28 contracts for LTE commercial application and has deployed test networks in cooperation with more than 90 operators across the globe. To date, over 100,000 ZTE LTE terminal units have been ordered worldwide. The terminals, which are purchased by global high-end operators, contribute to the commercialization of LTE technology.

ZTE is a leader in developing LTE technologies. To date, ZTE has applied to ETSI for 235 essential patents (EPs) for LTE standards, accounting for approximately 7 per cent of the total number of EP applications globally.
As a result of the growth of its commercial LTE business, ZTE expanded the range of performance support parameters for its base stations to cover 300Mbps to 900Mbps on commercial networks. This solution uses a mature commercial DSP chip for a more flexible and stable performance than the ASIC chip currently used throughout the industry. The new solutions are capable of providing a higher level of support for upcoming LTE-A systems.
ZTE also was the first telecoms company to introduce a unified SDR hardware platform. The Uni-RAN solution based on this platform is able to achieve a smooth evolution to next-generation technologies and multiple modes and reduces operators’ total cost of ownership. ZTE offers a full range of LTE base stations, including widely distributed macro stations.
