25 May 2012, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has been awarded the ‘Best Integrated IMS Solution Award’ at the recent IMS World Forum 2012 event in Madrid, Spain. ZTE was awarded for its IMS-based legacy voice service (PSTN/ISDN) emulation solution which has been deployed as part of 80 commercial contracts worldwide.
Complying with ETSI’s TISPAN and 3GPP specifications, ZTE’s IMS based PSTN/ISDN emulation solution, introduces the AGCF (Access Gateway Control Function), core network equipment for fixed terminal access, and supports multiple access modes including H.248, V5, PRI/BRI, H.323, MGCP, NCS, R2/No7 (PBX) and IETF SIP. It provides convergent voice services through the unified voices service platform – MMTEL AS. In addition, the solution integrates existing narrowband intelligent devices to introduce unified core control and service triggering for all accessing terminals. As of Q1 2012, the solution has been commercially implemented in many global operators including Telefonica Peru, Tiscali Italy and China Telecom, serving more than 40 million users.
ZTE continues to innovate in the IMS technology and is rapidly expanding its market share. ZTE recently launched its IMS based 4-Network(GSM/WCDMA/LTE/WiFi) Voice Convergence Solution and its IMS Smartphone Application both aimed at increasing the scale and usability of IMS.
