12 October 2012, Vienna, Austria, ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has launched the first ZTE Grand X IN mobile phone in Austria – its first device with an Intel® Atom™ processor.

Austria is the headquarters for ZTE's expansion into Central and Eastern Europe and the company expects to double its turnover in Austria in the next two years. By 2015, ZTE aims to become the world's third largest mobile phone manufacturer.

The new ZTE Grand X IN has a high-definition, 10.9-centimetre (4.3-inch), 16 million colour screen, and a best-in-class 8-megapixel camera enabling Blu-ray quality movie playback. The 1650 mAh lithium-ion battery ensures the device holds its charge for a long time.

The ZTE Grand X IN measures 127 x 65 x 9.9 millimetres and features the latest communications capabilities including Bluetooth 2.1, WLAN and WiFi Direct, DLNA and Mobile HD Link (using a micro USB) for short-range connectivity.

"The new ZTE Grand X IN performs brilliantly and comes with many extras. The new Intel® Atom™ processor provides an impressive user experience. We are looking forward to further successful co-operation with ZTE,” said Helmut Vogler, Vice President and General Manager for Mobile and Wireless Sales at Intel.

ZTE has been a successful supplier of telecommunications equipment for the Austrian market over the last two years. The company has created 80 new positions in Austria and the value of orders has totalled more than €100 million.

According to Alexander Schuster, ZTE Austria board member: "Austria has become a central location in Europe for ZTE. It will now be the springboard for our expansion into Central and Eastern Europe. This will also give our turnover an additional boost – we expect it to have doubled by 2014." For Austria, this means that a significant increase in domestic added-value is expected over the next few months.

ZTE is also rapidly expanding worldwide. Mr He Shiyou, ZTE Corporation Executive Vice President, said: "We are producing around 15 million smartphones for the global market this year. As a result, we are ranked fourth in the smartphone sector worldwide. By 2015, we want to become one of the world's top three mobile phone manufacturers. With continued annual growth of 400 percent in this sector over the last few years, we will reach this very ambitious goal."

ZTE has also established itself as a leading global supplier in the wireless, terminal and telecommunication services sectors. Today, the company supplies 140 countries worldwide via 500 telecommunication suppliers and employs more than 80,000 people. "In 2011, ZTE's turnover grew by 29 percent to $13.7 billion," added Mr He.
