Sotelco Ltd to deploy ZTE’s wireless solutions for its 2G, 3G and 4G networks; ZTE to swap Huawei in hundreds of sites including the capital City Phnom Penh
5 May 2014, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, announced the company won a major mobile network contract from Sotelco, swapping the operator’s current vendor Huawei Technologies.
ZTE’s industry-leading wireless solutions will be deployed in Sotelco ’s networks for 2G, 3G and 4G services. ZTE’s solutions will displace Huawei equipment in hundreds of sites, covering Phnom Penh and core areas of other provinces. ZTE will provide Sotelco with solutions that support GSM, UMTS, and LTE technologies on the same hardware platform, avoiding the need to run multiple hardware platforms.

ZTE Uni-RAN solution supports 42Mbps HSPA+ 3G and 4G LTE services for Sotelco, enabling the network to meet rising demand for 3G and 4G mobile broadband services, while efficiently managing network resources. ZTE’s advanced unified transport solution is forecast 400G of bandwidth in the future, with latest MPLS-TP technology and best performance to support 3G and LTE networks.
Sotelco is one of the largest mobile operators in Cambodia. It has been one of the fastest-growing mobile operators providing the best 2G network coverage, most attractive tariffs and best quality of services for Sotelco subscribers in 24 provinces in Cambodia. In 2013, Sotelco won 1900MHz frequency for 3G deployment, and will begin deploying 3G services for all subscribers in Cambodia in 2014. And also, with the support of ZTE, Sotelco will launch 4G services in 2014, in a major development for the telecommunications market in Cambodia.
