Globally-leading mobile phone maker ready to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia

Bali, 12 June 2014 - ZTE today unveiled three new smartphones for users in Indonesia to strengthen the company’s presence in Southeast Asia.

ZTE’s Nubia Z5S Mini, Blade L2, and KIS 3 are now available in Indonesia, bringing ZTE’s world-class technology innovation and design to users in Indonesia. ZTE announced the launch today at the Grand Nikko Hotel, Nusa Dua, Bali.  

“ZTE is committed to make our world-class technology and user-oriented design available to users in Indonesia and Southeast Asia,” said Jacky Zhang, President of ZTE Mobile Devices, Asia Pacific and Commonwealth Independent States (CIS). “Asia Pacific is a primary target market for ZTE, and Indonesia is one of the biggest potential markets in the region. ZTE had focused on B-to-B business in the past. But now, we are ready to establish our brand in the retail market, and we are confident that our products will appeal to users in Indonesia.”

With a commitment to offer world-leading technology to everyone and understand the needs of consumers, ZTE has been producing handsets for more than 16 years. The company has built its business presence in 160 countries, cooperated with 230 operators, and established strategic cooperation with 47 out of top 50 operators worldwide. ZTE shipped about 40 million smartphones in 2013, and aims to ship 60 million smartphones in 2014.

In the first quarter of 2014, ZTE was ranked No.4 in North America market with 4.2% market share according to data from Strategy Analytics. ZTE ranked No. 2 in the overall prepaid market, according to ITG. In China, ZTE is now ranked No.1 domestic vendor in 4G handset market in aspect of brand attention, according to ZDC.zol.com.cn. ZTE also has a portfolio of more than 50,000 global patents, 14,000 issued patents, and achieved a global top-2 ranking in PCT patent applications in each of the past three years. ZTE has more than 8,000 smart terminals, and more than 1,000 4G patents.

ZTE Nubia Z5S Mini

ZTE Nubia Z5S Mini provides customers with the best choice of smartphone. Its stylish look was designed by an Italian artist Stefano Giovannoni, to accommodate lifestyle and emotional needs for the touch of beauty. Nubia Z5S Mini was created for those who dare to be different, have personal statement, and dare to express themselves in their own way and not a market follower. ZTE Blade L2

As for Blade L2, the device’s look and feel spectacularly thin with large screen – up to 5.0, supporting maps with navigation services, an array of must-have Google services, plus a top office suite, and popular cloud services like Evernote and Dropbox pre-installed. Blade L2 has Quad-core 1,3GHz chipset along with 1GB RAM and 5 MP camera. ZTE Blade series have been sold more than ten millions units in more than 50 countries – and Blade is the biggest selling Android smartphone in China.

KIS 3

If Nubia and Blade series offer a sophisticated and beautiful design, KIS 3 is more concise and sports a clever design with more color options; hot orange and cobalt blue. This series is aiming for youth segment, with fun and energetic personality. It can be seen from its large screen- up to 4.0 with Qualcomm 1.2GHz dual core, 2 MFF for the camera, 512 MB RAM, and it also supports GPS/ Glonass/Beidou.
