12 October 2014, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK/Ashare stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, canvassed high attention again from the industry as the company announced its Information Security Solution to efficiently integrate traditional security products with new mobile security technologies and support the governments of the Middle East to forge a safer regional environment.
Mr. Xu Ming, Vice President of ZTE Corporation, introduced the first enterprise-class information security solution exclusively developed by ZTE on the first day of GITEX Technology Week: “The explosion of apps and access to data brought about by the mobile Internet is increasingly putting personal and company information at risk. ZTE’s solution helps governments and enterprises improve information security through identity verification, new firewall and security isolation technology.”
Mr Xu Ming continued, “New attacks like advanced persistent threats in enterprise networks make managing internal and external risks an issue for information security. Many governments such as the United States and China have that listed information security as a national strategic goal; see information crimes as a major threat.
The technology helps governments and enterprises improve information security in three ways. Firstly, ZTE’s mobile office security platform constitutes a safe network border for mobile terminals to effectively carry out identity verification and access security problems.
Secondly, the solution provides a new type of intelligent firewall that integrates the detection, defence and traffic monitoring functions to effectively protect customers from malicious attacks. Key information assets are encrypted at the network border, and the two-factor authentication and dynamic access mechanisms are used.
Thirdly, the security system collects security logs of all network devices including mobile terminals and intelligently notifies them to block or isolate potential risks and threats hiding at the network border to maximise information security.
Most notably, the trust-ID technology developed exclusively by ZTE is applied in the solution. This technology separates identities from locations to provide the IP network with fixed identifications, turning an anonymous network into a “real-name” network system, shifting from a defence-centred strategy to a control-centred strategy, enhancing its overall protection ability.
Mr. Xu Ming said, “The Middle East is a key oil-producing region in the world, as well as an economic, trade and transportation hub for Europe, Asia and Africa. A stable and developed Middle East will be conducive to the future of these three continents and even the world. ZTE is committed to providing the governments and enterprises in this region with a full range of solutions and services at multiple levels and in different fields for the happy and peaceful life of the people in this region.”
