16 October 2014, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, ranked first in global FTTH (fibre to the home) CPE (customer premises equipment) shipments in Q2 2014 with 36 percent of the market according to global consulting firm Infonetics, and has maintained solid growth against other major CPE vendors.
According to 2014-Infonetics-2Q14-BB-CPE-Subs-Mkt-Fcst report, global broadband CPE sales in 2014 Q2 reached a value of US$2.556 billion, declining 1 percent compared with Q1, and global CPE sales volume hit 49.08 million units, representing a quarterly increase of 1 percent.
Unit sales of FTTH CPE increased 11 percent, cable CPE unit sales shrank 3.8 percent, and DSL CPE sales increased 0.4 percent compared with Q1. The report reflects the steady growth of ZTE among mainstream CPE suppliers and the company’s strong focus on growing its business in the FTTH CPE sector.
Analysis by industry analyst Infonetics also shows that with heavy investment in future FTTH buildouts by telecom carriers in China, Japan, South Korea, US, Europe and the Middle East, the number of FTTH CPE users will escalate and so will the sales of FTTH CPEs.
ZTE CPE products have been sold into more than 80 countries and regions including China, Spain, Holland and France, and cumulative shipments have exceeded 0.14 billion units.
