16 December 2014, Kuala Lumpur ZTE Corporation noted the High Court of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur today ordered Vringo Infrastructure to bear the legal costs of ZTE Malaysia, after Vringo withdrew an application for an interlocutory injunction against certain ZTE network products with LTE technology in Malaysia.

ZTE is committed to defending a pending lawsuit in Malaysia related to the MY-142706 patent initiated by Vringo, and reserves the right to pursue all other legal actions in Malaysia and other jurisdictions to safeguard the interests of ZTE and its customers.

In September, Vringo withdrew an infringement claim against ZTE related to Patent EP (UK) 1 808 029, the equivalent of MY-142706 in the United Kingdom, from an impending trial before the UK High Court of Justice Chancery Division court.

As a globally-leading technology innovator, ZTE respects the intellectual property of other companies and is willing to negotiate royalty fees with license holders based on FRAND principles. ZTE steadfastly opposes all forms of abuses of intellectual property by non-practicing entities that use the threat of litigation and injunction to support their demands for unfair licensing fees.
