ZTE supplied 51% of China Telecom’s MSE routers over past 3 years, delivering improved user experience and accelerating new service deployment

19 January 2015, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, is pleased to play a leading role in the provisioning of multi-service edge (MSE) routers to China Telecom Group.

During the past three years, almost 51% of China Telecom’s centralized purchases for MSE routers were allocated to ZTE, demonstrating the superior performance and capabilities of ZTE. In the most recent China Telecom IP network tender, ZTE won the second-highest allocation for MSE routers, and was awarded the largest share of orders for service routers (SR).

MSE routers play a central role in China Telecom’s ongoing upgrade of IP Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN). MSE routers enable operators to integrate traditional large customer private line oriented SR and broadband access servers (BRAS), helping to accelerate new service deployment, improve user experience, reduce network elements, and improve network resource utilization as well as maintenance efficiency.

ZTE is gaining an increasing allocation of order for high-end routers from China Telecom, thanks to ZTE’s technology innovations and customer-centric philosophy. ZTE’s high-end routers are deployed in more than 150 China Telecom MANs in 26 provinces, in addition to the core service sites at the headquarter of China Telecom.

With more than 20 years’ IP technology R&D and global IP network design, construction and maintenance experience, ZTE has built up advanced high-end router capabilities based on proprietary routing technology, back by self-developed semiconductors. ZTE’s high-end routers are deployed in commercial networks of customers including China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, as well as operators in Asia Pacific, Southeast Asia, Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
