3 March 2015, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, enables a world leading converged 4G network powered by multi-operator core network (MOCN), carrier aggregation (CA) and voice over LTE (VoLTE) solutions for HKT. This solution helps HKT to converge its mobile networks smoothly and at the same time improve the communications experience of 4G users.
After acquiring CSL in 2014, HKT operates two commercial networks in parallel. As such, there is a need to integrate the two networks as quickly and seamlessly as possible to ensure the users on two networks can enjoy the same service experiences without being disrupted by changes. Being the supplier of one of HKT’s two mobile networks, ZTE leverages its leading technological capabilities and considerable global experiences in building commercial networks to uphold and optimize HKT’s network performance by large-capacity, high-performance hardware and latest software to improve service experience. With the use of MOCN, CA and VoLTE technologies, ZTE further assists HKT to bring her two networks together in coexistence with the best end-to-end network sharing solution to gain commercial success.
With ZTE’s end-to-end network sharing solution, HKT has achieved network interconnectivity and service convergence, setting the standard for global VoLTE interoperability. HKT’s converged 4G network provides users with the ability to use high-definition voice and video services to communicate with one another. KPIs such as VoLTE connection time and voice quality will be near perfect and users will be able to experience communication services of the same quality as before, and download files at a rate of up to 300 Mbps.
In 2012, ZTE provided CSL with a complete IMS-based VoLTE solution with voice call continuity support using enhanced single radio voice call continuity (eSRVCC) technology, and the VoLTE network was put in commercial use in 2014.
At the LTE World Summit 2014, ZTE won the Best LTE Core Network Product award for its xGW product, consolidating ZTE’s position as the industry’s leading evolved packet core (EPC) network provider in the 4G arena. Today, with the world leading, state-of-the-art MOCN, CA and VoLTE based solutions, ZTE will continue to provide users with the best possible experience in terms of network quality, technological capability and services offered.
