23 June 2015, Shenzhen, China– ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, has released the ZXMP M721 CX66, the company’s compact packet optical transport network (OTN) product at the WDM & Next-Generation Optical Networking Forum held in Nice, France.
With the global large-scale commercial deployment of LTE and the rapid development of over-the-top (OTT) services, flat network demands are forcing OTN bearer networks to evolve into unified bearing networks. With this in mind, ZTE has developed its compact packet OTN product, the ZXMP M721 CX66, which integrates ODUk, packet, and virtual circuit (VC) crossing in one. The solution is designed to ensure unified bearing of various complicated network and services. With advanced functionality and powerful performance, the release empowers operators to undertake edge layer network construction.
With a height of only 6U, the ZXMP M721 CX66 features the highest 840G crossing capacity in the industry. The solution supports 2Mbit/s to 100Gbit/s any rate access, and can implement metro area core and backbone network E2E unified crossing scheduling. It also provides full support for software defined networking (SDN).
Mr. Wei Xiaoqiang, Director of Bearer Network Planning and System Department, ZTE said: “The ZXMP M721 CX66 is a compact packet OTN product with the highest integrity and capacity in the industry. It perfectly satisfies operators’ urgent bearing demands, effectively reduces network layer complexity, and ensures the perfect unified bearing of edge layer OTN.”
According to the latest optical network product market report released by renowned analyst firm OVUM, thanks to its large scale deployment of optical networks in the Asia Pacific region, ZTE’s optical network product has secured first place in the region with a market share of 28 percent in Asia Pacific area in 2014.
