Suzhou, China, 21 November 2024 – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, in collaboration with China Telecom Jiangsu, has successfully completed the commercial deployment of the 5G-A Cluster DRS (Dynamic Radio Sharing) solution around Suzhou Yangcheng Lake.

This joint effort leverages the existing 5G network infrastructure to significantly enhance network coverage and communication performance in complex water environments. The solution ensures smooth and efficient operation of services such as intelligent guided tours, HD video streaming, and drone delivery, providing users with a seamless 5G experience across various locations, including island scenic areas, boat routes, and roads surrounding the lake.

Cluster DRS is an innovative 5G Advanced technology jointly developed by China Telecom and ZTE. The technology introduces the innovative "Cluster" concept, shifting the network resource allocation strategy from the "cell-centric" model to the "user-centric" model. With Cluster DRS, the network can dynamically form a cluster of base stations centered around the user's real-time location and service needs, adjusting beam allocation and coordination among base stations within the cluster. This ensures that each user enjoys a consistent and optimal experience.

Suzhou Yangcheng Lake, known as the "Millennial Water Town and Oasis in the Lake", is also famous as the "Home of the Hairy Crab". To support the development of Suzhou Yangcheng Lake's "Tourism+" model and promote the accelerated integration of beautiful countryside and specialty agriculture, China Telecom Jiangsu and ZTE completed the commercial deployment of Cluster DRS technology in the area, aiming to further enhance the 5G user experience through 5G enhancement technologies.

Commercial test results showed that, on the boat route from Meirentui Peninsula to Lotus Island, the user experience in HD live streaming is improved by more than 30% on average, while in areas such as the Tourist Center, services like tour guidance and online shopping saw an improvement of over 20%. This achievement not only effectively enhances the digital experience for users but also lays a solid foundation for future applications of 5G technology in more scenarios.

Moving forward, China Telecom Jiangsu will continue to deepen its cooperation with ZTE, exploring further applications of 5G-A technologies in new scenarios and business models, accelerating the realization of widespread digital transformation and upgrades.
