ZTE Shows Commitment to India

ZTE Corporation, China´s largest listed telecommunications manufacturer and leading wireless solutions provider, is showing its commitment to India by sponsoring a programme to help students at Jawahar Vidyalaya higher secondary school in Chennai, southern India.

Through the programme, organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad, ZTE has donated books and other study materials, uniforms and equipment to enable students with disabilities to lead more independent lives.

"I am very pleased to be able to help the students of Jawar Vidyalaya school," said Mr Chen Yi, Vice President Assistant at ZTE India.  "Our involvement in India goes beyond providing hi-tech solutions: we want to be a part of India, and this means employing local people and taking part in projects to benefit our local community."

Earlier this year, ZTE opened a flagship factory and R&D centre in Manesar, near Gurgaon.  The facility factory covers an area of more than 4 000 square meters and contains the latest hi-tech equipment.  ZTE will use the facility to manufacture CDMA, GSM, DSL, and NGN equipment, as well as handsets.
