CelcomDigi, U Mobile and ZTE have been recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records for achieving the fastest mobile speeds at 30.8Gbps with 5G-A during a live trial conducted in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia

 

Kuching, Malaysia, 14 August 2024 – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, in collaboration with CelcomDigi Berhad and U Mobile Sdn Bhd, has been recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records for achieving the fastest mobile speeds at 30.8Gbps with 5G-Advanced (5G-A) during a live trial conducted in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. This remarkable achievement is currently the fastest speed recorded in the world. In addition to this new benchmark, the partners also recorded individual users experiencing speeds of up to 8.5Gbps. 

 

The application of 5G-A technology brings about huge benefits for consumers as well as enterprises, as it is capable of supporting innovative, complex and data-intensive applications, creating optimal user experience. The industry partners intend to showcase the cutting-edge technology with Malaysia's first-ever 5G-A live broadcast from the Opening Ceremony of SUKMA 2024 in Sarawak to viewers across the nation through Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM). Viewers will be able to enjoy dynamic and immersive experience as the broadcast will consist of high-resolution streams with minimal delay. For the broadcasters like RTM, it will also be the first time where they are able to capture the best footage, all via a wireless ecosystem offering them more flexibility and ability to do real-time coverage.
