Amsterdam, Netherlands, 14 September 2024 - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, and Netgem, a French Pay-TV OTT Platform solution provider founded in 1996, held a ceremony to celebrate their innovative achievements in constructing the Pay-TV OTT ecosystem. This ceremony marks a new phase in their end-to-end Pay-TV OTT ecosystem collaboration and has drawn significant attention in the industry.
ZTE and Netgem have joined forces to build a more competitive end-to-end Pay-TV OTT ecosystem. Leveraging ZTE's strong technology R&D capabilities and industry chain integration expertise, along with Netgem's profound service innovation capabilities with award-winning TV Platform, the partnership offers comprehensive end-to-end solutions for users.
ZTE contributes to the ecosystem with a range of high-performance, multifunctional multimedia terminal products, including STBs, Dongles, Sticks, and Smart Soundbars. These devices, equipped with an open operating system and pre-installed with popular streaming media applications like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+, deliver a variety of content options to meet users' demands for high-quality video playback and smooth operation.
Netgem plays a crucial role in the OTT TV service integration. Drawing on years of experience and deep understanding of Pay-TV, Netgem provides a diverse array of FAST channels by integrating FAST services, Cloud gaming, TV linear and non-linear services, and media aggregation. Additionally, Netgem has established a comprehensive cloud gaming library, offering users a one-stop service experience. The solution also features customizable service options, allowing users to benefit from complete personalized experience via Universal Search and personal recommendations.
ZTE and Netgem's collaborative solution offers not only a broad range of application scenarios but also flexible solutions tailored to different markets - with a very fast time-to-market. For Internet Service Providers (ISPs), this solution is both economical and easy to deploy. It optimizes cost structures, enabling ISPs to enter the market quickly, even with limited resources, to meet the basic needs of local users.
For multinational telecommunications operators, the solution is highly scalable and adaptable. It accommodates various laws, regulations, cultural differences, and user demands across different countries and regions, providing customized services and functions that cater to diverse markets.
This solution has already been successfully deployed on Reunion (France), where it has been operating for over a year. Operators there have expanded beyond traditional live TV and VOD program packages by adding a wealth of FAST channels and a comprehensive cloud gaming library. This enhancement has significantly increased users' willingness to upgrade their devices, creating new revenue streams for operators.
