March 2, 2017, Barcelona, Spain – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced that its new-generation metro packet optical transport equipment ZXONE 9700 was rated as a “Leader” by GlobalData (formerly Current Analysis), which is the second time for ZTE to be rated as a leader after last year. According to the report, ZTE’s ZXONE 9700 provides the highest switching capacity, the highest numbers of DWDM lines, the highest per-slot backplane capacity and the strongest 200G/400G transport capability in the class.
ZXONE 9700 is ZTE’s ultra-large cross-capacity OTN equipment. It supports 100G/beyond-100G transport rate and Optical Channel Data Unit/Packet/Virtual Container (ODUk/Packet/VC) unified cross platform for “rigid/flexible pipelines and unified transport” of government and enterprise private lines. It also supports Colourless Directionless Contationless Flexgrid (CDCF) and Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) to cover all application scenarios of operators ranging from edge aggregation layer to core backbone layer and fully meets the requirements of transparent transport, flexible scheduling, aggregation processing and service management monitoring for mass data services.
In the 100G/beyond-100G field, ZTE also continues to create new world records. In January 2016, ZTE worked together with TMA and successfully completed a 400G transport test, refreshing the industry's longest transport distance record. In June, ZTE created the world's longest transport distance record over single-carrier 800G 16QAM. In July, ZTE’s 100G OTN equipment passed the VC cross test in existing networks organised by Jiangsu Telecom, and the differentiated advantages are highly recognised by the operator.
ZTE has always held the industry’s leading position in 100G/beyond-100G innovative technology. There are more than three hundred 100G network application cases, and the fiber length of 100G networks has exceeded 300,000km, and the technologies are widely used in first-class operators across Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and other areas. The internationally renowned consulting corporation OVUM released its latest global optical network market share report which showed that ZTE’s global optical network market share ranks number 2.
