30 June 2017, Shanghai – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, hosted the Innovating Network Transformation Summit at Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2017, as the company accelerates innovations that help operators evolve their network architecture for next-generation services.
With the advent of 5G networks and growth of IoT technologies, ZTE’s industry-leading transmission network solutions including 5G Flexhaul, virtual DataCenter (vDC), virtual Broadband Remote Access Server (vBRAS), Central Office Re-architected as a Datacenter (CORD), and Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) support operators in their network architecture transformation. At the Innovating Network Transformation Summit, ZTE was joined by operators including China Mobile, China Telecom and Telkom Indonesia to explore the latest advances and best practices on network transformation.
“ZTE’s innovative solutions for network transformation make us strong partners for operators around the world as they get ready to deploy 5G and other next-generation services,” said Xu Ming, Senior Vice President of ZTE.
Together with China Mobile Research Institute, ZTE developed vBRAS solution to facilitate network function virtualization (NFV) of metropolitan-area network (MAN) edge networks. The vBRAS solution won the award for Infrastructure Innovation at the Global Telecom Business Innovation Awards 2017 in London in May 2017.
At the Innovating Network Transformation Summit, Hu Shujun, a specialist from China Mobile Research Institute, said China Mobile is collaborating with ZTE on the commercial deployment of vBRAS solution.
Cheng Weiqiang, another specialist from China Mobile Research Institute, discussed the future 5G transport network demands, architecture and key technologies. Mr. Cheng considered 5G transport as a critical developing trend of transport network.
Mr. Shi Fan, a specialist from Beijing Research Institute of China Telecom, gave a presentation on the CORD solution, which provides open SDN cloudified network, Network Functions Virtualisation Infrastructure (NFVI) and high ICT integration.
A representative from Telkom Indonesia gave a presentation on the operator’s innovations in digital transformation.
During MWC Shanghai 2017, ZTE released ZXCTN 609, a 5G Flexhaul new product. With innovative FlexE switching, Operations, Administration and Management (OAM) extension and ultra-fast protection switching, the new product implements End-to-End (E2E), ultra-low latency and FlexE Tunnel, providing hard separation to extend FlexE from interface technology to network technology, and provide important support for 5G transport.
