5 July 2017, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, announced that the company’s proprietary Pre5G Massive MIMO solution was successfully deployed by China Mobile to support live mobile video streaming and other high-speed wireless data services for the Jilin City International Marathon 2017.

ZTE’s industry-leading Pre5G Massive MIMO solution helped China Mobile’s branch in Jilin support a 757% surge in mobile data usage during the marathon, which attracted almost 10,000 participants, with 50,000 viewers watching real-time video streams of the event online. This year, top athletes from the United States, U.K., Germany, Kenya and Ethiopia joined the annual international sports event in Jilin, northeast China.

The Pre5G Massive MIMO solution, also known as 3D-MIMO, helps operators increase increasing their spectrum efficiency by six to eight times. With the industry’s smallest and lightest design, ZTE’s Pre5G Massive MIMO solution is easy to install, and supports a wide range of frequency bands including 2.3GHz, 2.6GHz , 3.5GHz.
