7 July 2017, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced it has released its industry leading Indoor Intelligent Navigation, Smart Car Seeking solution.
The solution encompasses indoor-outdoor seamless navigation, smart car finding and capability open service (COS). Using the QCell indoor coverage solution, mobile edge computing (MEC) and IoT terrestrial magnetism detection, the smart management of indoor large/multi-story parks can be conveniently achieved at low cost and high efficiency. The solution assists operators to construct a modern, convenient smart building, and provides a smart connection between human beings and objects. ZTE deployed the solution in the Zhangjiang ZTE Intelligent Park and demonstrated the related services in front of thousands of attendees at MWC Shanghai.
Seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor, navigating without limits
Outdoor navigation has become an important part of our daily lives; however, while driving down to an underground parking garage, the unfamiliar terrain means that it can take us much longer to find an available parking space. ZTE’s Indoor Intelligent Navigation, Smart Car Seeking solution can effectively solve this problem. When the QCell indoor coverage system detects that a car is approaching, it reports it to the MEC automatically. This triggers the high accuracy indoor navigation, which provides parking space reservation service and route planning.
Finding your car intelligently, with just one click
Today’s large indoor underground parking garages can be over 10,000 square meters, and many of them are multi-storied. People often forget where their car is; or easily get lost in such big parking structures. ZTE’s solution illustrates the user’s tracks with Qcell and distinguishes algorithms, analyses and records a user’s parking space reported by IoT terrestrial magnetism and connects users with said parking space. The user can scan a QR code or use the app anywhere inside the building to get the detailed parking space and route by clicking “Navi.” With this solution, users don’t need to remember the “parking space number”, “location ID” or “parking stories”, they only need to follow the real-time navigation to find their car.
Network COS, establishing new ecosystem
ZTE’s solution provides open capabilities to enable rich additional services. For example, it enables operators to provide information related to mobile phone/car position and idle parking spaces to the venue manager. Meanwhile, with MEC application development and management capabilities, it can provide relevant information to the app and/or content provider for their secondary development based on location data and consulting. The solution aims to help establish a new ecosystem, and assist in the construction of smart buildings.
