2 April 2019, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced that its smart set-top box ZTE Mebox and 5G QCell base station PICO have won Red Dot Awards 2019 by virtue of their innovative design concepts and appearance. Moreover, PICO has won iF Design Award 2019 as well.
With a minimalistic geometric shape, the smart set-top box, ZTE Mebox, illustrates the fusion and variation of circle and rectangle.
Featuring home cloud, the high-definition 4K set-top box enables users to remotely control Mebox, deliver media and manage applications through mobile APP. Moreover, ZTE Mebox can also be connected to mobile hard disk to back up mobile photo albums, upload and download files through APP.
Furthermore, the design concept of ZTE 5G QCell base station PICO is rooted in Chinese Go, representing a perfect combination of design and function. With the smooth metal surface, the heat sink on the back of the product showcases an integration of beauty and practicality, which breaks the stereotype of traditional base stations.
In addition to the design, PICO is distinct from traditional base stations in terms of appearance, transmission rate, and coverage area. Its application scenario primarily involves the indoor space and public hotspots, which require better product appearance.
Founded in 1955, Red Dot Award is the world’s top and most influential industrial design award, known as one of the global three design awards along with iF Design Award and International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). Red Dot Award winning products undoubtedly represent the highest level of industrial design, with the recognition of global authorities in industrial design.
