ZTE Corporation (Shenzhen: 000063, Hong Kong: 0763), the fastest growing global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, is bringing its GoTa digital trunking services to Vietnam Telecomp 2006, from September 13-16 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Today, ZTE made the announcement, at a press conference held before the show, that it has donated a complete GoTa system to serve Vietnam Telecomp 2006.
"ZTE`s CDMA-based GoTa system will be a highlight of the show as it is actually being used by the event organisers to provide communications during the event," said Ms Dong Xiufeng, ZTE market planning director of the region.
The Global open Trunking architecture (GoTa) system is the world`s first CDMA2000-based new-generation digital trunking system, and was independently developed and launched by ZTE. GoTa was the first China-developed and produced digital trunking system and includes the first patented telecoms technologies to be licensed to major international telecoms providers outside China. ZTE owns 120 GoTa-related patents.
ZTE has also entered into a technical cooperation agreement with systems equipment manufacturers such as Nortel and Lucent to develop "Open Standards and Interface Specifications", jointly building the industry chain alliance for interoperable communications systems equipment.
Since its commercial launch in 2004, ZTE`s GoTa solutions have been deployed in more than 20 countries and regions including Norway, China and Malaysia. It won the Chinese ICT industry awards issued by China`s Ministry of Information Industry (MII) at the end of 2005. The technology takes full advantage of CDMA2000`s high voice quality, system capacity and high data rates to enable operators to deliver many more mobile community services and realize a smooth evolution path toward CDMA2000 1xEV-DO.
ZTE`s GoTa system provided the communications for China`s 10th National Games in September last year where the system delivered digital command and dispatch communications services through more than 3000 terminals. It was also used in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) held in Tunisia last November.
Electcoms, the largest professional trunking operator in Malaysia, has selected ZTE`s GoTa system to update its analog trunking system and establish a nation-wide digital trunking network with a capacity of more than 50,000 subscribers.
As China`s leading CDMA brand, ZTE developed GoTa technology with its own research and development facilities. It is capable of bringing rich and sophisticated services to subscribers and evolving smoothly to future technologies. It can help improve wireless operators? revenues as well as cutting trunking costs while opening up the opportunity for operators to deliver new value-added services.
