Half-yearly Shipment Nears 12,000 Sets; Meets 2006 Annual Total Target

21 August 2007, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation ("ZTE"), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announced  that it has shipped close to 12,000 CDMA base stations in the first 6 months of 2007.  The figure represents a remarkable 240% increase compared with same period last year, resulting in ZTE meeting its 2006 annual target, with still five more months before the year ends.

"Since 2001, ZTE had already shipped over 55,000 CDMA base stations," said Mr. Zhu Jinyun, general manager of ZTE's CDMA product.  "India alone accounts for over 20,000 sets of the shipment, allowing ZTE to capture the largest market share for CDMA base stations in the country.  ZTE has also launched CDMA base stations with new frequency bands, including 1700/2100 MHz (AWS band), 410 MHz, ATG (Air-to-Ground) band, etc."

In addition to registering a sterling record in volume shipment, the company also has another milestone to announce - its CDMA system subscriber capacity has exceeded 100 million lines, representing a 100% increase compared to the figure as of end-2006.  As the leading global CDMA supplier in the market, ZTE not only secures large volume market share in Asia and Africa, but also enjoys significant development in its business scope in high-end strategic markets in Europe and America.

In large volume market segments, ZTE has significant business success in India and Indonesia this year. The company has accumulated a total network subscriber capacity of 43 million lines in India, while it has become one of the top three CDMA suppliers with a capacity of 15 million lines in Indonesia.  Across Africa, the development of ZTE's business in Morocco has been particularly solid. Recently it has successfully helped WANA to expand its user scale by adding over 4 million lines of CDMA Softswitch core network capacity, making WANA's CDMA network one of the most sizable across the whole continent.  In the near future, ZTE is planning to further migrate WANA's CDMA network from WLL to mobile network.

In addition, ZTE has also been enjoying positive growth in the high-end strategic markets in Europe and US.  In Norway, it has built an EV-DO/GoTa commercial network, contributing to the development and expansion of the user base in the country.   The company also built the first EV-DO Rev.A network in Czechoslovakia with more than 360 base stations covering the entire republic.  In the US, ZTE is currently developing the CDMA2000 1X or EV-DO network for at least four operators, as initial strategic step into entering the elite class of tier-one operators in North America.

Ranked as the No.1 leader in CDMA base station shipment globally, ZTE's CDMA products have been deployed in more than 70 countries for over 120 operators, and has helped set up over 50 EV-DO networks in more than 40 countries. The company's CDMA mobile Softswitch solutions are also becoming popular in the world, as the capacity increases from 20 million lines in Q1 to 60 million lines this quarter.
