2008-10-22 Moscow，the InfoCom Moscow 2008 is opened on 22 October 2008. The event is hosted by the Russia Ministry of Telecommunications and considered to be the largest in scale and most professional in the industry. There are around 300 participants this year, including the most important telcos and investors of Russia like top 3 mobile operators MTC, Beeline, Megafon, and fixed operators such as SI, Comstar, MGTS etc. as well as telecom vendors such as Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia-Siemens, etc.
This is the second time for ZTE to attend the event. With the slogan of “Talking to the Future”. ZTE’s exhibits focus on the latest technology solutions and products in four categories, namely wireless, core network, fixed broadband and terminals. The exhibition demonstrates the trend and tide of “convergence, innovation, green and all IP” in the industry.
According the world-known consultant agency BCG (Boston Consultant Group), the Russian telecom market will increase by 15% annually thanks to the economic growth and the great demand for mobile communications. The Russia Ministry of Telecommunications and Information will shell out $3.3 billion US dollars in 10 years.
In the face of the financial crisis triggered by the sub-prime credit crisis in US, America and Europe become the seriously affected regions. However, the four big emerging markets (called four golden BRIC) namely Brazil, Russia, India and China, are survivals of the crisis due to the effective governmental regulations. They are hopefully to become the new engines for the world economy growth. Most of ZTE’s revenue come from the emerging market, especially the above mentioned four countries. The situation is very favorable for ZTE to survive the hard times.
Mr. Zeng Li, the President of ZTE CIS Region, said, ZTE’s business not only covers sales of products, network deployment, but also the cooperation in finance, technology and talents. ZTE has entered strategic partnership with Systema recently and set up joint-venture in Hangzhou city, China. Russia is a strategic market for ZTE with great potential.
