Chinese telecommunications equipment leader shows advanced solutions in Rome

27 November 2008, Rome, Italy – ZTE Corporation (ZTE), a leading supplier of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, will participate as the only Gold Sponsor at Expo Comm  Italia 2008 and the associated Broadband World Forum event at the Rome Exhibition Area (Fiera di Roma), December 2 to 4.

Expo Comm is a circuit of eight leading international exhibition events in Europe, Asia and America, and for more than 20 years has been an important platform for the introduction of information technology (IT) solutions and applications that contribute to the creation of business value and knowledge, and help to encourage the development and growth of economies worldwide.

Expo Comm Italia 2008 is one of Italy’s and EMEA’s most important exhibitions dedicated to the IT sector, and is paired with the Broadband Business Forum (BBF) which brings together politicians, institutions and Telco operators, with the objective of analysing the evolution and regulation of the fixed line and mobile broadband telecommunications business.

ZTE will have a large exhibition booth at the show, more than 100m² in size. There, it will be possible to get acquainted with ZTE’s extensive solutions portfolio of telecommunications technologies and products. The company will focus in particular on its wireline and mobile networks offerings, showcasing a wide range of solutions including Green Broadband solutions, VAS, IPTV, Videoconference systems, Bearer Network Solutions, NGMN with GSM/UMTS dual mode BBU+RRU, LTE SDR and WiMAX solutions. ZTE’s complete terminal portfolio will be on show as well, including mobile phones already available in Italy and forthcoming models, such as smart-phones, set for launch in 2009.

ZTE will lead three keynote sessions during the BBF conference. The first keynote is planned for the general opening session and will describe NGN future scenarios; the second session will be dedicated to high definition digital TV and the development of IPTV; the third speech will cover the future of WiMax networks. ZTE will attend the Demo Arena as well, with three technical presentations during the three days of the exhibition on topics which include: ZXESS Easyservice for Network and Services Management and Operations; Femtocells as a solution to indoor coverage issues; and the benefits of multimedia videoconference-based communication.
