12 January 2012, Shenzhen, China –– ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, announced today that the WiMax network it implemented in Bangladesh in cooperation with operator Banglalion has reached 200,000 subscribers.
ZTE is the exclusive networking equipment supplier for Banglalion, and helped the operator complete the implementation of the national Bangladeshi network in the span of only one year. The network supports TDD-LTE evolution and uses the telecoms industry’s most advanced large-capacity BTS 4*8 equipment. Banglaion is Bangladesh’s No.1 WiMax operator.

ZTE has provided WiMax systems equipment in several high-end markets including Europe, Japan and the United States, and has been adopted by global-leading WiMax operators such as Clearwire, Telefonica, UQC and Packet One. As of the end of September 2011, ZTE had successfully deployed 73 WiMax networks in 44 countries across the globe, including Southeast Asia’s largest commercially operated 2.3G WiMax. As of the end of 2011, ZTE had built experimental and commercially operated TD-LTE networks in 18 countries in cooperation with 31 leading global telecoms operators, including seven large-scale, commercially operated TD-LTE networks.
