22 October 2013, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK/Ashare stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has launched the GH800 an LTE-enabled large-screen smart-broadband trunking mobile handset at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition 2013 (GITEX) in Dubai.
The GH800 has a 4-inch 480x800 WVGA LCDmulti-point touch capacitive screenand can be submerged in water up to a meter deep for approximately 30 minutes without impacting its performance. Other features include shock and vibration absorption and the capacity to withstand solar radiation, making it highly reliable, especially in extreme environments.
The GH800’s LTE-enabled GoTa 4G intelligent platform and customised secure operating system supports wireless broadband, near field communication and global positioning. As smart cities, safe cities, smart transportation systems, smart grids, and digital oilfields evolve, the GH800 can facilitate the efficient running of multimedia trunking applications.
The ZTE GH800 provides an improved user experience for people working in challenging environments, making it ideal for use in a large number of industries including government, public security, transportation, logistics, oil, electricity, mining, factories and otherenterprises and institutions.
“LTE is the mainstream choice for 4G network construction. The successful launch of mature commercialised terminals such as the GH800 consolidates our position as leaders in the LTE market,” said Miao Wenguang, Marketing Director at ZTE.
Due to their low bandwidth, narrowband trunking systems based on 2G technology cannot meet customer demand for high-definition video and multimedia services. Only high-speed wireless data transmission can meet customers’ increasing service and application requirements. The GH800 supports ZTE GoTa 4G voice intercom and video dispatching services and high-definition multimedia trunking communications, which enable group members to hear and see each other clearly. To meet the special requirements of industry customers the GH800 has gained achieved IP67 Ingress protection accreditation.
ZTE's professional trunking systems and networks have been successfully deployed in over 40 countries across the world, serving more than three million users. ZTE wireless multimedia broadband administrative networks based on LTE and 4G trunking have already been deployed in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, and other cities in China. Industry-specific private networks have been constructed for many markets including government, transportation and energy.
