22 October 2014, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has launched the first ITU-T G.9701-compliant single-port DPU (FTTdp Unit) product, the ZXHN F201D.
The ZXHN F201D adopts leading-edge XG-PON1 and G.Fast technologies, implements 1G hyperfast broadband access over twisted pairs for short transmission distances, and delivers an FTTH-like gigabit access experience for subscribers relying on traditional copper cables.
With the coming of the ultrafast broadband era, carriers are facing difficulties improving copper cable access speeds, and are turning to FTTdp to deliver high-speed FTTH-like access to subscribers. The ZXHN F201D is a single-port compact DPU that integrates XG-PON1 and G.fast technologies, and supports maximum 1G access speed, plug-and-play and onsite “Zero Configuration” to make installation easier and to enable rapid deployment.
ZTE Vice President Zhu Yongxing said: “Continuous innovation based on customer requirements is the motive force for ZTE’s development. We will continue to promote the G.fast technology standard and its commercial application, and to provide products and services for global customers to create greater value.”
ZTE has long been a promoter of G.fast technology and standards and has been awarded several patents in the G.fast sector. ZTE’s contributions to the ITU-T G.fast standards cover a large range of G.fast core technologies and are leading industry developments.
