27 March 2015, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for communications, has been selected as one of the partners to contribute to Deutsche Telekom's 5G:haus.

In a conference held by the Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) Alliance in Frankfurt, Dr. Bruno Jacobfeuerborn, chairman of the NGMN and CTO of Deutsche Telekom, officially announced the launch of the initiative which aims to continue the development and standardization of 5G. Deutsche Telekom leads the development of global communication standards in collaboration with scientific research companies, emerging companies, and network suppliers from around the world.

As a contributor to the 5G innovation lab, ZTE will continue to be deeply involved in the NGMN's 5G work and will cooperate with other operators to promote the standardization of 5G. ZTE will also join Deutsche Telekom's research in the innovation and key technology fields of 5G.

ZTE has been recognized as playing an innovative and pioneering role in the 5G field and will continue strategic investment in 5G. ZTE will continue its dedication to researching and practicing 5G technologies while spearheading innovation in the field. In July 2014, at the LTE & 5G World Summit, ZTE first proposed innovative Pre5G ideas before putting them into commercial practice in November. Together with China Mobile and other world leading operators, ZTE completed the pre–commercial use test of Pre5G Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO). At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, ZTE demonstrated the world's first integrated and commercial base station of Pre5G Massive MIMO.  

 In 2015 ZTE will also introduce other key Pre5G solutions, such as user densification networks (UDN) and multi-user shared access (MUSA) solutions.

The announcement of ZTE’s contribution to the 5G innovation lab closely follows an invitation from Carlos Moedas, vice president for the company to join the H2020 program to develop and innovate 5G technologies and commit to the research and development of digital technologies in the future.
