Exploring the Future of Smart Mobility

Ms. Tang outlined ZTE's commercial deployments and technological advancements in smart mobility, including Air-to-Ground communication, low-altitude economy and waterway management based on ISAC (Integrated Sensing and Communication), metro and railway private networks, and Vehicle-Network-Cloud solutions.

As connectivity technology further develops, it will continue to extend applications in three potential directions: low-altitude economy based on ISAC, waterway management based on ISAC, and Vehicle-Network-Cloud applications powered by ultra-low latency and edge computing.

5G in Action: Three Key Scenarios

Ms. Tang delved into three critical scenarios where 5G is transforming smart mobility:

1. ISAC based Low-Altitude Economy and Waterway Management: ZTE's ISAC technology is enabling innovative applications such as drone delivery and medical supply transport. In Shenzhen, ZTE's ISAC base station supports Meituan's drone delivery system. Meanwhile, in Anyang, 5G facilitates the transportation of blood and medical supplies between hospitals and blood stations, establishing an aerial blood transportation lifeline—a project that recently won the 2025 GLOMO Award. Additionally, in Turkey's Kumport, ZTE, in collaboration with Türk Telekom, has deployed an ISAC network for vessel monitoring.

2. Railway Private Networks: ZTE is enhancing both passenger and operational experiences through 5G. For passengers, ZTE ensures high-speed, seamless connectivity with edge data speeds of 50Mbps downlink and 2Mbps uplink. For railway staff, 5G meets stringent security and reliability requirements, such as latency under 100ms and reliability exceeding 99.99%.

3. Vehicle-Network-Cloud Integration: In Suzhou, ZTE's 5G network provides the performance of 20ms@99.99%, covering a total of 162 km roads, which can realize the real-time monitoring and communication between unmanned vehicles and the cloud, as well as the remote takeover of driving. This project, a collaboration among ZTE, China Telecom, Tianyi Corporation, and Suzhou Public Bus Group, exemplifies how integrated efforts can achieve business success and technological advancement.

ZTE is at the forefront of integrating 5G technology into smart mobility, unlocking new dimensions of value through intelligent and reliable connectivity. As the world moves towards 5G-A and 6G, ZTE's innovative solutions and strategic partnerships are paving the way for a smarter, more connected future in transportation.
