Barcelona, Spain, 7 March 2025 - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions has released its Autonomous Networks White Paper 2025 at MWC Barcelona 2025. This white paper explores new trends and key innovation directions of autonomous networks in the AI era, and introduces excellent practices towards Level 4 autonomy, aiming to provide valuable references for industry partners.

Artificial intelligence is driving a new wave of technological transformations and reshaping the global economic structure. In this process, operators rely on their network infrastructure to address the root problems of intelligence by providing data services. They will use LLMs to free up human labor and simulate human organizational behavior. Additionally, digital twin technology will enable the mapping, simulation, and closed-loop control of physical environments to interactive virtual  environments, thus accelerating the evolution of high-level autonomous networks.

ZTE has upgraded its high-level autonomous networks solution AIR Net (namely AI Reshaped Network), fully injecting AI capabilities into network infrastructure, single-domain network operations and cross-domain service operations. Through a self-developed intelligence platform, ZTE's AIR Net solution has built three major engines, including the data engine, the AI large model engine and the digital twin engine, which employs a modular digital architecture that delivers diverse service capabilities. It offers end-to-end automation using data and capability decoupling, replaces manual labor with multi-agent collaboration, ultimately achieving end-to-end closed-loop automation and intelligence.

The white paper states that these AI-driven agents are poised to redefine autonomous network workflows, marking a paradigm shift from traditional O&M tools in interaction methods, interface design, system architecture, business capabilities, and development/delivery processes.

The evolution is specifically reflected in the human-machine interaction from Graphical User Interface (GUI) to Multi-modal User Interface (MUI), the interface mode from traditional APIs to intent-driven interaction interfaces, the product architecture from process-centric to goal-centric design, transition from local visibility to a full-link, data-driven digital twins, and delivery from product-driven R&D delivery to goal-driven, orchestrated assembly-based engineering delivery. These transformations promote the intelligent upgrade of network operation management.

The white paper further explores ZTE's latest innovations and practices in the field of autonomous networks. "The key to improving network operation efficiency in the future is to accelerate the application of agents," Zheng Peng, Vice President of ZTE, stated. "ZTE is building a brand-new O&M system with AI agents as the core. Focusing on complex problems in high-value scenarios, ZTE has carried out agent application practices and gradually promoted them on a large scale."

Through extensive collaboration with global operators and industry partners, ZTE actively fosters continuous technological innovation such as large models and digital twin technologies, with the aim of facilitating commercial utilization and full intelligence.
