Nanjing, China, 13 March 2025 - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, in collaboration with China Mobile Research Institute, recently announced the launch of a prototype DeepSeek-based core network real-time communication agent in Nanjing. Wei Bin, Deputy Director of the Network Center of China Mobile Research Institute, and Zhao Weiqun, Deputy General Manager of Computing and Core Network at ZTE, attended the ceremony.

Through the in-depth cooperation between core technical teams of both parties, an integrated AI platform has been built based on the real-time communication media plane, enabling the agile deployment of online AI capabilities.

In addition, the DeepSeek model is seamlessly integrated into the AI platform as a plug-in, creating innovative applications for personal intelligent assistants and security assistants, innovating new models of intelligent media processing and real-time communication services, and promoting the evolution from the call entrance to the AI service entrance.

Based on the VoNR+ network architecture, China Mobile has launched a range of applications such as real-time translation and screen lighting. With more than 40 million users in the existing network, 5G New Calling is a landmark service for real-time communication in the 5G era. In terms of accelerating the integration and innovation of real-time communication and AI capabilities, the innovation of the media engine has become the focus. Relying on the real-time communication integrated AI platform and using the plug-in architecture and intelligent orchestration technology, the core network is internally intelligent. Various AI media capabilities can be quickly updated, greatly improving the service innovation efficiency. The real-time communication network with the DeepSeek model is endowed with advanced AI capabilities such as semantic analysis and intent recognition. This not only enables personal intelligent assistants to provide intelligent services such as schedule management and real-time Q&A, but also enables security assistants to accurately identify fraud characteristics in real time, effectively guaranteeing user call security.

Zhang Hao, a group-level chief expert of China Mobile, expressed, "This time, ZTE has integrated the capabilities of large models, including DeepSeek, into the core network infrastructure, creating a new model for intelligent network upgrades. We are redefining the value boundary of call services."

Zhao Weiqun, Vice President of ZTE, stressed: "We are dedicated to the innovation of real-time communication networks. Together with China Mobile, we have developed a plug-in ecosystem for the integrated AI platform, enabling the flexible, on-demand deployment of AI capabilities at the network side to accelerate application launches."

In the future, China Mobile Research Institute will work closely with ZTE and other industry partners to unlock the full potential of DeepSeek and Jiutian models, building a diverse industrial ecosystem through the real-time integrated AI platform. The institute is committed to delivering an unprecedented calling experience to users while continuously driving the evolution of calls toward greater intelligence and efficiency.
