ZTE and Varnion join forces to accelerate digital transformation in Indonesia's hospitality sector

Barcelona, Spain, 5 March 2025 – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, and Varnion Technology Semesta (Varnion), a leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) focused on providing high-quality internet services featuring innovative app-based solutions powered by the latest technology, have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  at MWC Barcelona 2025 in Spain. According to the MoU, both companies will strengthen their strategic cooperation in developing business solutions tailored to Indonesia's hospitality sector.  

Hospitability is a key driver of the tourism industry's growth and plays a significant role in Indonesia's economic development. In 2024, the sector is expected to contribute 8.56% to the country's GDP, making it one of the five largest contributors.

As Indonesia's hospitality industry grows, reliable, high-speed connectivity has become crucial for enhancing guest digital experiences and improving operational efficiency. Under this agreement, ZTE and Varnion will collaborate to enhance the digital infrastructure of hotels, resorts, and other accommodation facilities across Indonesia by delivering cutting-edge  fixed broadband solutions, Set-Top Boxes (STBs), and other innovative technology-based services.

In this collaboration, ZTE and Varnion will develop smart home technology and entertainment solutions tailored to Indonesia. The partnership includes the development of an intelligent STB and STB management platform that enables remote operation and maintenance, improving both operational efficiency and user experience.

Additionally, the partnership aims to expand entertainment offerings in the hospitality and home sectors by exploring innovative STB applications that deliver an immersive video experience.

Beyond entertainment, both companies are expanding into smart home solutions, including Soundbar STBs, ONT Combo STBs, IP cameras, and smart locks, thereby creating new business opportunities in the technology and digital industries.

ZTE and Varnion are also driving the growth of Indonesia's smart home market by developing services such as Mesh Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 7, FTTR, and other connected devices.
