3G roadshow arrives with state-of-the-art technology
ZTE Corporation (Shenzhen: 000063, Hong Kong: 0763), China´s largest listed telecommunications manufacturer and leading wireless solutions provider, is considering to open a new resource centre, serving Central and Eastern Europe, in Budapest, Hungary.
The centre, which will provide logistic and technical support to ZTE´s rapidly expanding European operations, will be one of the bases for ZTE´s human resources, sales support, marketing and maintenance teams in the region.
"This new centre is ideally located for us to work alongside our customers throughout Central and Eastern Europe," said Mr. Zhou Fuqiu, vice president of ZTE Corporation. "ZTE will benefit from the high standard of human resources that Hungary has to offer. However, the specific schedule of the center and the size of the center are largely depended on the marketing penetration and potential in Hungary."
"Our strategy in Europe is totally focused on localization: we will work more closely with local partners, recruit more local employees and establish centres in Europe," he added.

ZTE began working in Hungary last year when it signed a contract with local operator Invitel, Hungary´s second largest fixed-line operator, to provide ADSL modems. More than 10,000 of ZTE´s ZXDSL 831A modems have already been delivered to service subscribers in nine of Hungary´s provinces. The advanced network provides fixed-line voice service, dial-up, ISDN and ADSL Internet services.
ZTE has already established 15 offices in Europe and has made significant steps into the European market. Earlier this month, ZTE announced that it is to become a global supplier of ADSL equipment to France Telecom, which boasts 118.6 million customers worldwide. In February, ZTE announced an agreement with Alcatel that will see ZTE´s CDMA radio access portfolio integrated into Alcatel´s CDMA end-to-end solutions. Also this year, ZTE has signed a research and development Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Portugal Telecom and an agreement with Skylink, Russia´s largest CDMA operator.
