European 3G roadshow reaches half-way point in Prague.

ZTE Corporation (Shenzhen: 000063, Hong Kong: 0763), China´s largest listed telecommunications manufacturer and leading wireless solutions provider, will today announce the opening of a new representative office in Prague.

The announcement of ZTE´s future commitment to this rapidly expanding market comes as their pan-European roadshow reaches its half-way point in Prague.

"The Czech Republic is important to us both geographically and in terms of human resources," said Mr. Guo Jun, general manager of ZTE Eastern Europe.  "We are now actively participating in tenders for major national contracts here.  We see the Czech Republic as a key market in our globalisation strategy and hope that through our work with local partner, TTc, we can increase our presence here," he added.

"Our strategy in Europe is totally focused on localisation: we will work more closely with our local partners, recruit more local employees and set up regional centres for maintenance and R&D."

As the roadshow arrives in Prague, visitors to the Corinthia Panarama Hotel between May 17 and May 18 will be able to see first-hand ZTE´s advanced wireless technology and solutions for the 3G era, including the Corporation´s industry-leading UMTS V3 system, next generation networks and a wide range of 3G services.

ZTE has already established 15 offices in Europe and has made significant steps into the European market.  Earlier this month, ZTE announced that it is to become a global supplier of ADSL equipment to France Telecom, which boasts 118.6 million customers worldwide.  In February, ZTE announced an agreement with Alcatel that will see ZTE´s CDMA radio access portfolio integrated into Alcatel´s CDMA end-to-end solutions.  Also this year, ZTE has signed a research and development Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Portugal Telecom and an agreement with Skylink, Russia´s largest CDMA operator.
