This year´s Alger Telecomp mainly sponsored by ZTE Corporation, the only major sponsor in the worldwide telecom industry, is opened today. The Alger Telecomp event is one of Africa´s leading telecommunications exhibitions. As one of the 61 exhibitors from 17 countries, ZTE is the only major sponsor in the worldwide telecom industry and also the only Chinese telecom manufacturer that has supported the exhibition. At the same time, ZTE booth is the most splendid stand in the liveliest part of the exhibition hall and has already attracted the largest audience on the first day. ZTE´s business in Africa is expanding rapidly. Last month, ZTE Corporation of China has beaten all other competitor vendors to make the first ever 3G call in Tunisia. Over the past few years, ZTE has already established a predominant position in North Africa´s telecommunications markets: in 2003, ZTE was selected to build Africa´s largest CDMA WLL project in Algeria; ZTE´s GSM products have been used in large-scale applications in Nigeria and Ethiopia; and, in 2004, ZTE was selected by Egypt Telecom to construct a large-scale CDMA network covering the Nile River Delta.
This Alger Telecomp event is scheduled for 10 to 13 October 2004 at the Palais des Expositions in Algiers.
