Agreements with Alcatel and France Telecom built on with technology roadshow as ZTE outlines plans for fixed and mobile convergence

ZTE Corporation (Shenzhen: 000063, Hong Kong: 0763), China´s largest listed telecommunications manufacturer and leading wireless solutions provider, is bringing its cutting-edge telecommunications technology to Paris this week, when its first European roadshow visits the capital.

Visitors to the Planete Sur Seine, moored at 27 Port des Champs Elysees, between 6-8th July, will be able to see ZTE´s advanced wireless telecommunications technology and solutions for the 3G era for the first time in France.  In particular, ZTE will be highlighting its vision for fixed-line 3G solutions in Western Europe.

"ZTE fully understands operators´ increasing demands for a converged solution for fixed-line and mobile networks," said Paris-based Cheng Lin, President of Western Europe.  "The solution that we will present at our roadshow covers multiple levels of access, terminals, IP and services; it can offer package and NGN-based core networks, and can realise universal user management, thus helping operators increase their competitive edge in the market.

"France is an important market for ZTE and one in which we have already had considerable success.  We are now looking to build on our agreements with Alcatel and France Telecom and bring more communications solutions to France."

Earlier this year, ZTE announced that it is to become a global supplier of ADSL equipment to France Telecom.  Also this year, ZTE and Alcatel signed an OEM agreement for the integration of ZTE´s CDMA radio access portfolio into Alcatel´s end-to-end CDMA solutions. The cooperation allows both companies to better address the growing demand for CDMA-powered fixed or mobile broadband services, by combining ZTE´s leading CDMA radio access technology with Alcatel´s broad range of CDMA-ready core network and transmission solutions, its wide portfolio of applications solutions, and its field-proven end-to-end network integration capabilities.

"We believe that there is a huge market demand in France for broadband, 3G and next generation networks (NGN): our roadshow will demonstrate to local customers ZTE´s outstanding capability in these fields," added Cheng Lin.

ZTE has established 15 offices in Europe and has made significant steps into the European market already in 2005:  in addition to the agreements with France Telecom and Alcatel, in January ZTE signed a research and development Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Portugal Telecom and won a contract to supply Skylink, Russia´s largest CDMA operator, with an advanced CDMA network for Murmansk.

ZTE´s roadshow has already visited Turkey, Greece, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany.  France is the penultimate stop on the roadshow before a final event in the UK.
