ZTE leads the world in the number of CDMA contracts
ZTE Corporation, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has announced that its CDMA wireless subscriber capacity has exceeded 50 million lines, with 75% of those being mainstream 800 MHz subscribers.
According to statistics on the global telecoms industry released on November 15 by the China Academy of Telecommunication Research of MII (CATR)"ZTE has signed more CDMA contracts than any other company, taking 35% of the global CDMA market over the period from January to September of this year. ZTE's CDMA base station shipments reached over 9000 sets in the last 11 months alone.
"We have supplied over 42,000 sets of CDMA base station equipment around the world since 2000," said Mr Zhao Xianming, general manager of ZTE's CDMA product division. "In the India market alone we have installed over 10,000 sets. This success is a result in particular of the great efforts made by our R&D teams across the All-IP CDMA2000 area."
ZTE's CDMA products have been supplied to Asia, Europe, North America and Africa and ZTE has established partnerships with many top CDMA operators including Reliance, Tata, BSNL, Indosat and PT Telkom Indonesia. To date, ZTE's CDMA products have been adopted by over 100 telecoms operators in more than 60 countries and ZTE has built over 50 EV-DO commercial or trial stations in more than 40 countries including Philippine, Vietnam, Norway and Mongolia.
